Sumitra Rameshbabu
Co-FounderWith a foundational background in Computer Science Engineering and years of experience in leadership and mentoring, Sumitra founded Saplings Early Learning Center out of a lifelong passion for guiding and inspiring young minds. As a mother of two and an active PTA member and school volunteer, she understands firsthand what parents look for in an early childhood home: warmth, safety, open communication, and genuine care.
Sumitra brings a patient and individualized approach to early learning, ensuring that every child feels seen, valued, and encouraged to explore their unique potential. Beyond the classroom curriculum, she brings her love for music into early childhood development. Drawing on her experience teaching Carnatic music, she introduces rhythm, creativity, and joyful expression into children’s everyday learning and discovery. At Saplings, Sumitra is dedicated to creating a nurturing community where every little sapling can grow into a confident, joyful, and lifelong learner.
Sasi Rekha Mohan
Co-Founder & Center DirectorSasi Rekha Mohan is the Center Director, bringing a decade of experience in early childhood education, grounded in both hands-on practice and leadership.
Her journey in early learning spans infant and toddler classrooms, instructional leadership roles, and center administration. Additional perspective comes from founding and operating a successful home daycare for three years, an experience that deepened her understanding of intimate, relationship-based care and the importance of trust between educators and families.
She holds a Bachelor of Corporate Secretaryship, along with a background in Early Childhood Education, and is committed to creating environments where learning is intentional, play-based, and developmentally responsive.
At the heart of her approach lies a belief that young children thrive in spaces where freedom, security, and respect are consistently present. This philosophy is reflected in classroom guidance that encourages teachers to nurture curiosity, independence, and joyful learning.
As a mother of two, she brings a warm, personal understanding to her leadership. Families often describe her presence as both grounding and reassuring—someone who listens with care, honors each child’s individuality, and offers steady support through every stage of early childhood development.
